For my friend’s birthday, he wanted to visit downtown Seattle and find a speakeasy. To my surprise, there are many hidden gems throughout the Seattle area.
We checked out the Founders Club in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle.
If you are looking for other speakeasies in Seattle, there are more listed below!
When we entered the hotel, we couldn’t find the entrance to the bar! We looked directly at the bookshelves and had no idea an entire world was behind them. Luckily, there are specific instructions to guide you on how to find the hidden speakeasy.
Our host opened the bookshelves and we emerged into a world that emulates “Mad Men.” The space is filled with leather couches and vintage lampshades. It’s cozy and romantic – the perfect date night.
The Founders Club has a lot to offer for everyone. They have a few nibbles, but we came here for the vibes and drinks. There are elegant mocktails and cocktails with unique flavors and styles.
Our first round of drinks includes the Coco Luna (Coconut-Washed Nikka Gin, Novo Fogo Cachaça, Amontillado Sherry, Coconut Water, Ube, Lime,) Secret Garden (Nuestra Soledad Mezcal, House-Made Limoncello, Sake, Bitters,) and the Spanish Cloud mocktail (Orange Juice, Shishito Kumquat Syrup, Lime Cordial, Berry Blend, Jerez Sherry Vinegar, Egg White.)
Each drink is so distinct in flavor!
Our next round of drinks ended up being our favorite. From left to right we have The Franz mocktail (Athletic Brewing Non-Alcoholic Blonde, Lemon, Yuzu, Ginger Syrup,) Monnet Talks (Camus VSOP Cognac, Cold Brew, Vecchio Del Capo,
Café Borghetti, Crème de Banane, Coffee Foam, Ginger Essence,) and Clover Club (Roku Gin, Cherry Blossom Vermouth, Lemon, Raspberry, Egg White.)
I didn’t get a picture of my favorite drink which was the Quinta Punch (Mijenta Blanco Tequila, Plantation 3 Star Rum, Laubade Armagnac, Spice Blend, Pineapple, Citrus, Milk-Clarified) so delicious!
Visiting the Founders Club speakeasy at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle was a treat! I highly recommend this location for an elegant date night, bachelorette party, or birthday with friends.
Here is a list of other unique speakeasies in Seattle that I cannot wait to try:
- Needle + Thread (Reservations Highly Recommended at Tavern Law (their sister bar.))
- Phởcific Standard Time (Upstairs from Pho Bac, in Downtown Seattle)
