Tasting Wines on a Summery Thursday in the Hollywood District!

Thursdays are a special day in the Hollywood District. There are quite a few open places, and it tends to be a little quieter. This is the perfect day to get to know your hosts, relax, sip, and truly enjoy the atmosphere!

One of the best things about going to the Hollywood District on a Thursday is that almost every restaurant is open by 11 am and the parking lot isn’t packed. Jen and I decided to get some food in us before wine tasting. Our first stop was Pablo y Pablo because Jen hadn’t been there in over a year!

To our surprise, Pablo y Pablo has a lunch menu. This was a new experience for both of us. We were incredibly excited to have some of their outstanding cocktails. Jen ordered a refreshing Paloma and I had the Chili Papaya Margarita! These were exactly what we needed on a hot summer day. To get us started we tried their Verde Rockfish Ceviche.

For the main dishes, I couldn’t resist the Beef Birria Quesadillas which are gluten-free. Jen ordered a massive Pablo Chopped salad.  In addition, she was able to replace the chorizo with chicken. We love that Pablo y Pablo is willing to adapt to our dietary needs!

When we finished we decided to begin our wine adventure. Our first stop was Isenhower’s Woodinville tasting room. At first, we were going to do a tasting flight, but instead, we decided to get a glass pour of their two different rosés. Jen had to revisit one of her favorites, the 2022 Walla Walla Sangiovese. I had the 2021 Pinot Gris “Vin Gris”. Both were phenomenal!

Usually on the weekend, it can be difficult to find seating, but we had the whole place to ourselves. We opted to sit outside to enjoy our rosés since it was so calm!

Afterward, we were going to check out Tinte Cellars, but realized they closed their Hollywood District location! Don’t worry, you can still visit them in Woodinville’s Warehouse District.

Our last stop for the day was Lachini Vineyards Tasting Room. Both Jen and I haven’t been there in forever! We were excited to try out their Rosé of Pinot Noir, but our host insisted we also try their Pinot Gris. She was very generous and let us try a sip of both so we could decide on a glass pour. Ultimately, she was right, the Pinot Gris was to die for!

We decided to enjoy our Pinot Gris outside on their lovely patio. Even though we were butted up against the parking lot, it still felt quite secluded. Lachini has a lot of outdoor and indoor seating to choose from.

In my opinion, visiting the Hollywood District on a Thursday is the best time. Not only is it less busy, including easy to find a place to park, but there are also many food and wine options! Make sure to come visit!
