Are you a whiskey lover? If you happen to be in Redmond, WA you should pop in to Woodblock. Not only is this the perfect place to wind down with your favorite spirit, but also the food is phenomenal.

Most days, the Woodblock is extremely busy! Luckily they have indoor and heated outdoor seating. For the most part, you will only wait a few minutes. If you have a specific time in mind to meet, there are always reservations!

A reservation will come in handy if you want to head down on a Tuesday. The Woodblock presents Whiskey Tuesday, which is half off whiskey pours. Be careful, there are exceptions! They carry a wide variety of whiskeys, including some that are rare (which are not included in the  half off whiskey pours.) You can find their extravagant spirit list here.

My friend and I didn’t partake in the whiskey list, but we were tempted! Instead, I ordered the “Lost in Tijuana” (tequila, combier, blood orange, lime, tamarind + chili salt rim), and my friend had the Fini Pinot Gris. Both drinks were incredible. Even if you aren’t a fan of whiskey the other cocktails are well worth it.

Now, onto the food! My friend and I were hoping to make it to Happy Hour, but we barely missed it. You can participate in Happy Hour almost every day between 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Some dates do not apply!

We thought we were keeping it light with a charcuterie board and an appetizer, but the Woodblock is very generous. We were pleasantly surprised to see an abundance of food even though we only ordered two things!

Something to keep in mind is that the Woodblock has a rotating seasonal menu. This brings me to our first seasonal dish!

We decided to try the grilled octopus. Personally, I’ve only ever had octopus deep-fried. I was really excited to try it! It was served with fava beans, celery, and peppers on top of a pepper tomato sauce. It was perfectly cooked!

Our final dish was the charcuterie board. It typically comes with a variety of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, marinated olives, gherkins, Marcona almonds, and apricot jam. You can add more items to the board if you want! We tagged on the smoked salmon. Since I am gluten-free, I did not eat the bread, but I still left stuffed!

I am thrilled to visit again! Especially to check out their new seasonal menu and perhaps try a whiskey flight!
