I have been posting on our social media channels and here at PNW Wine Life for years (formerly Woodinville Wine Blog. Read more about our re-branding and expanding, here) going on about how much I enjoy trying the burger specials at The Hollywood Tavern, so this feature on their Pork Belly Burger should come as no surprise, lol.
This burger was a delight and included a hand-formed beef patty, beer-braised crispy pork belly, a Gorgonzola cream cheese sauce, Woodinville Whiskey maple syrup, lettuce and tomato on a Grand Central Bakery potato bun. We opted for the gluten-free bun, which was tasty and had perfect texture.
I love the fact that they offer the ability to order online! The Hollywood Tavern is located near Columbia Winery and sits right next door to Woodinville Whiskey Company’s Distillery and tasting room. Open for lunch and dinner, with happy hour from 3-6 pm Monday through Friday.
The seasonal cocktails here are always fun and the whiskey selection is impressive at Hollywood Tavern. You will find a delightful selection of PNW wines available for bottle or glass purchase. Seasonal beers are also available here.
Here Kaiti is drinking the cranberry gimlet, and I opted for a glass of sparkling rose, produced in Washington State by the beloved Chateau Ste Michelle. You can see from our photos that we decided to sit outside around the fire pit, and even in November, we were warm enough to remove our jackets.
The fried pickles are typically a must-order every time we sit down to eat at The Hollywood Tavern, but on this visit, Kaiti and I tried the ancho chili tots. They were made with braised pork, queso, tortilla strips, cilantro, and ancho lime crema. This appetizer was delicious and very filling, perfect for sharing with multiple people at the table.
The special menu burger options are updated often here, and I always love to go try them out. Sometimes the recipes are brand new, and there are other times when the restaurant will bring back favorites for a return appearance, like the Bangkok burger and the Portobello burger.
